Severance Star Emerges as Strong Contender for Iconic MCU Villain Role
Fan-casting has proven to be remarkably effective in the past. With viewers so in tune with their selections, studios often pay attention to public opinion more than occasionally. Thanks to these choices, Rosario Dawson embodies Ahsoka, Henry Cavill takes on The Witcher, and Patrick Stewart portrays Professor X. Now, supporters of Severance have voiced their thoughts on the idea of Tramell Tillman transitioning from the Apple TV Plus popular sci-fi series to the MCU as a new version of Kang the Conqueror.
One enthusiast on Reddit floated the idea to the crowd, suggesting, “Tramell Tillman would be an excellent pick if they were to recast Kang in the future.” Portraying Seth Milchick (aka Mr. Milkshake), the fan made the case that “He’s incredibly skilled at being subtly unsettling in Severance. He perfectly captures the persona of being kind yet just a tad too nice, which makes it creepy.” Others quickly concurred that Tillman could indeed be a fitting alternative for Jonathan Majors, who was let go from Marvel after being convicted of third-degree assault and harassment in 2023.
Another supporter endorsing the idea of Tillman taking over stated, “He definitely possesses that screen charisma that made Majors so compelling. He can alternate between being friendly yet unsettling to commanding and manage to embody both simultaneously, depending on what he chooses.” This suggestion prompted another fan to envision the possibilities, declaring, “I had zero interest in seeing Kang recast, but wow, this would be absolutely incredible!!! The only actor I would want to see replace Majors.”
The chances of Kang making a comeback anytime soon in any capacity are minimal, especially considering the redirection and upcoming appearance of Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., the newest major villain of the MCU. He is set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, which is slated to release on May 1, 2026. You can discover why he is considered one of Marvel’s most fascinating and enduring characters here.
