Severance Season 2 Set to Impress with Exceptional Early Reviews
The initial reviews for Severance season 2 have arrived, and the eagerly anticipated new season now boasts a 100% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
This science fiction thriller series, conceived by Dan Erickson and helmed by Ben Stiller, made its debut on Apple TV Plus in 2022. The narrative centers around Adam Scott, who portrays Mark, a widower opting to undergo the controversial procedure of becoming a “severed” employee at the enigmatic Lumon Industries. Though it was promptly renewed for a second season, delays in production, labor strikes, and other issues pushed the release date further down the line. Thankfully, the wait turned out to be well worth it.
The Daily Telegraph awarded it a 4/5 rating, stating, “This is extraordinary, original, mind-bending television, a program that encourages deep contemplation, even as it risks spiraling into the depths of its own creative imagination.”
Dexerto commended the season as a “remarkable accomplishment; a flawless exhibition of acting, along with gripping and compelling storytelling. Kudos to Kier.”
“It’s difficult not to adore a series this stunning and relatable, one that explores both profound existential questions and whimsical dance breaks depending on its mood,” noted Consequence.
“This makes for a season that’s often darker, less frequently humorous, and not necessarily more gratifying—but nonetheless strikes even more chillingly close to home,” remarked The Hollywood Reporter.
