Gladiator 2 takes place two decades after the original Gladiator. It centers around Lucius (Paul Mescal), the offspring of the first film’s main character, Maximus (Russell Crowe), who becomes a captive after the Roman Empire conquers Carthage and, just like his father, is trained to fight in the gladiatorial arena. Alongside Paul Mescal as Lucius, Gladiator 2 features Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen. The film has received positive reviews, with numerous critics lauding it as a worthy successor to Ridley Scott’s original film.
The previous Gladiator film’s 4K steelbook edition was also recently reissued and is now priced at $28 on Amazon (previously $31). Walmart also offers the Steelbook edition for merely $20, although it is currently out of stock.
If the Steelbook edition becomes unavailable on Amazon, you can opt for the standard edition of the Gladiator 4K Blu-ray, priced at $28, which includes both the theatrical and unrated versions of the film. There’s additionally a double-feature compilation that includes 4K editions of Gladiator and Mel Gibson’s Braveheart in one package for $24 (formerly $34).
