23 games launching at commencement following a year-long beta

Samsung has introduced a complimentary mobile gaming platform across its Galaxy devices in North America.

The mobile manufacturer has been testing the streaming service in a beta since last year using a Game Launcher app, now rebranded as Samsung Gaming Hub.

Initially, there will be 23 games available, featuring no-cost titles such as Monopoly GO, Candy Crush Saga, Homescapes, and Honor of Kings.

All games will be easily accessible, with Samsung’s vice president and head of gaming products and services, Jong Woo, stating to GamesIndustry.biz: “In contrast to other cloud services, there is no content locked behind a paywall and no monthly fees for users to access these games through our cloud streaming technology.”

Players can access games via links shared through Galaxy Store listings, Samsung Gaming Hub, or advertisements. The Galaxy Store, which is pre-installed on all Samsung smartphones and tablets, will serve as the operational client.

Samsung reports that 50% of gamers who clicked on a mobile cloud gaming ad or listing during the beta proceeded to play the associated title.

Woo expressed his belief that the ease of use cloud gaming provides, without requiring downloads, will benefit Samsung.
