Rocksteady Unveils Ambitious New Batman Solo Adventure: A Fresh Artistic Vision
Rocksteady is working on a distinctive new Batman title.
According to an extensive article by Bloomberg, which outlines the Warner Bros. Games‘ position following the departure of president David Haddad after a decade in office, it suggests that Rocksteady is “seeking to revisit Batman for a single-player experience”.
Neither Rocksteady nor Warner Bros. have officially announced the Batman sequel. However, it seems that it won’t be arriving anytime soon – according to the article, “the new project is years away from release”.
In light of the disappointments with the live-service aspirations of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the failure of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions to achieve similar success as Hogwarts Legacy, there is speculation that Rocksteady may abandon the live-service model used for Suicide Squad and instead refocus on its critically acclaimed – and notably, single-player – Batman franchise.
On the other hand, WB Games Montreal is reportedly “assisting” with other projects, such as the new action-adventure title featuring Marvel Woman, which Warner Bros. has clarified will not be developed as a live-service game. They may also be working on a pitch for a brand new Game of Thrones game.
Recently, Warner Bros. confirmed that MultiVersus will conclude with its fifth season. In a statement to the players, the MultiVersus team stated that Season 5 will end on May 30th, while the game will remain playable offline “for the foreseeable future”.
