Rocksteady Slashes More Jobs Ahead of 2024: What It Means for the Future

It remains ambiguous how many individuals were affected by this second round of layoffs in just three months

The developer of Suicide Squad: Assassinate the Justice League, Rocksteady, executed another round of layoffs just before the end of 2024.

This represents the second instance of workforce reductions within the span of three months.

According to reports from Eurogamer, around six developers affected by the layoffs confirmed to our affiliated site that they had lost their positions, including personnel from the programming, art, and QA teams.

The job cuts occurred mere weeks after the Warner Bros. subsidiary Rocksteady Studios conducted a previous round of layoffs in September 2024.

It is unclear how many employees were affected by these layoffs, and Warner Bros. has not yet responded to media inquiries for comments.

Warner Bros. acknowledged shortly after the release that Suicide Squad “[failed] to meet expectations],” which further heightened the negative comparison with the launch of Hogwarts Legacy during the same period the previous year.
