It was initially anticipated, but what actually happened?!
We’re experiencing a strong wave of nostalgia looking at that picture! 1 Vs. 100 was undoubtedly a significant part of the Xbox 360 era, functioning as a live game show where Xbox fans could compete and try to win prizes while answering trivia questions.
It was a fantastic way to unite the Xbox community, and Xbox leader Phil Spencer clearly concurred, even mentioning in a 2020 interview that he regretted “that we didn’t continue it.” Unfortunately, it has never returned.
This is likely not due to a lack of effort. Spencer revealed that he and his team have been “on the case” a few years ago, and reports have indeed suggested that something was “definitely” being developed… yet nothing has come to fruition as of late.
It has now been almost five years since the last time it was discussed about this project, indicating that it may have been scrapped somewhere along the way. Still, could it make a return? Is there any hope for a revival at some point in this console generation?
What we do know is that Phil seemed eager to move away from the 1 Vs. 100 branding (likely due to licensing issues) which could have posed a challenge, but we still believe he might find a good alternative.
So, what are your thoughts on this? Would you be interested in a 1 Vs. 100 revival for Xbox, or has that ship already sailed? Is it time to leave that journey in the past and concentrate on new ideas? Let us know in the poll below!
