Several months after departing from NetEase-owned Ouka Studios – which was shut down last year shortly after Square Enix released Visions of Mana – co-director Kenji Ozawa has founded Studio Sasanqua.

In an interview with Automaton, Ozawa emphasized that the new studio will ensure “management […] protects creators,” inspiring both developers and design in ways that make employees feel secure and appreciated.

Moreover, by self-financing his venture, Ozawa stated he is prepared to accept any project failure instead of shifting the blame to the creative team, as past experiences have shown that some studios impose excessive responsibility and fault on individual developers rather than addressing mismanagement.

Initially, the team will focus on small-scale projects created in Unreal Engine, aiming to eventually develop original intellectual property for PC and consoles.
