Revamped OG Blueprints in Fortnite Season 2: What You Need to Know

Our nostalgic journey into Fortnite’s past continues this week with the launch of Fortnite OG Season 2, transporting us back to the 2017 version of Fortnite. The account’s metaverse, as we now know it, didn’t exist back then—this game was merely an emerging battle royale featuring a unique construction mechanic that was rapidly gaining popularity. With the introduction of OG Season 2, we’ve received a transformation of the game’s map.
However, the original Fortnite Season 2 was a milestone, not because of its gameplay. Instead, it is significant because Season 2 was when Fortnite unveiled its battle pass concept, which has been widely adopted by the rest of the gaming industry over the last seven years. Along with this battle pass came the establishment of the account’s strategy of utilizing FOMO (fear of missing out) tactics to market cosmetics.
For those wishing that Fortnite OG Season 2 would resurrect that classic battle pass and give you a chance to obtain the Black Knight skin: Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen right now. However, Fortnite OG Season 2 is reintroducing several beloved previous locations, including a few that were never brought back to later battle royale islands or in Reload—outside of that first OG Season in 2023, of course—so there are a few nostalgic places here.

Shifty Shafts
