Experience ‘Tidy Soccer’ on the subscription platform before it is removed
- by Liam Doolan
At the conclusion of last month, Nintendo revealed that it would be removing a Classic Nintendo title from its Switch Online library.
If you missed this announcement the first time, here’s your reminder that you have less than a week to enjoy the Spike Chunsoft game Tidy Soccer before it is taken off the subscription service. This removal will occur on 27th March 2025 (or 28th March, depending on your region).
No indication has been given about whether the game will make a return to this service in the future, so if you haven’t yet tried it, this is your chance if you have a current subscription. Here’s part of the official description for this title (known as Tidy Formation Soccer in Japan) from Nintendo’s website:
“This title is a sports game for the Super Nintendo released in 1991. It is a soccer game that offers a 3D viewpoint where you observe from behind the goal, allowing you to select from 16 base teams, each with unique players and 8 different formations.”
Tidy Soccer was first added to the Switch Online Classic Famicom service in September 2019 and was indeed one of the few third-party additions at that time. Below are some official screenshots along with a video:
This month, Nintendo has also enhanced its Switch Online digital game library with Mario’s Picross and Donkey Kong for Game Boy. Additionally, next week, coinciding with the removal of Tidy Soccer, subscribers will be able to explore four Koei SNES titles.
In other news, Nintendo will begin phasing out Gold Points on 24th March 2025. Learn more in our previous article.
If we receive any significant updates regarding the removal of Tidy Soccer, we will let you know. Have you played this game on the Switch Online service before? Share your thoughts in the comments.
