We are consistently keeping you wonderful folks informed on what’s arriving to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service in the near future; however, sometimes we must share some not-so-great news regarding the Game Pass collection – and this week, we’ve encountered two significant XGP-related hold-ups.
Indeed, in the past few days, both REPLACED from Sad Cat Studios and The Alters from 11 Bit Studios have been delayed. The former has now been pushed entirely to 2026, while the latter has shifted from Q1 2025 to “later in the year”. Both titles have been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass and remain planned for the service, despite their disappointing delays.
Since the game’s announcement ages ago, there has been considerable buzz surrounding REPLACED, and it’s genuinely unfortunate (cat) to see it delayed again. If you happened to forget what it looks like or how The Alters is developing, you can take a look at both of these games and their updated release windows below.
The Alters (Later In 2025)
“Immerse yourself in an emotional sci-fi experience that uniquely blends survival, adventure, and base-building elements. Assist Jan Dolski—the only survivor of a disastrous space mission—create alternative versions of himself to flee a perilous planet and navigate personal struggles with this unconventional team.”
REPLACED (2026)
“REPLACED is a 2.5D sci-fi retro-futuristic action platformer where you control R.E.A.C.H. – an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its will. REPLACED merges cinematic platforming, pixel art, and dynamic action combat set in a reimagined 1980s.”
Are you still excited for both of these XGP titles? Are you losing faith in REPLACED? Share your thoughts on these delays below.
