UPDATE: Service provider has returned after nearly a 24-hour interruption, but Sony remains silent on the reasons behind it.
UPDATE 09/02/25: PSN services are finally back online, restoring functionality around the middle of the night last night UK time after a 24-hour outage.
While Sony did not provide detailed information on what caused the service interruption initially, it did mention “an operational issue” and has offered an additional five days of service to PlayStation Plus subscribers affected by the downtime.
Community services have fully returned from an operational issue. We sincerely apologize for the disruption and appreciate the community’s patience. All PlayStation Plus subscribers will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service.

ORIGINAL STORY 09/02/25: The PlayStation Network remains offline after unexpectedly going down last night, UK time (1am CET / 7pm ET / 4pm PT).
According to Sony, the outage is affecting all services and functionalities, including account management, gaming, social interactions, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct.
Unlike last time, this seems to impact all PlayStation systems, affecting not only PS4 and PS5 players but also PS Vita, PS3, and web-based users as well.
Following a brief notice on PlayStation’s social media about 10 hours ago stating that Sony is “aware some users may be experiencing issues with PSN”, there have been no further updates regarding the cause of the outage or when services will be restored.
