ProbablyMonsters has reportedly commenced yet another round of layoffs.

As stated by GameDeveloper, posts on LinkedIn from developers who were previously employed at the firm suggest that projects have been “shut down,” leading to multiple confirmations from employees indicating they are now in search of employment.

“The latest project I was working on at ProbablyMonsters has been discontinued, so I am on the lookout for a new position,” said one game designer, while a former QA lead remarked: “Sadly, my team has been laid off, and I am seeking my next opportunity.”

ProbablyMonsters has reportedly opted not to comment on the situation. It remains uncertain how many positions have been affected at this time.

The reductions arrive just months after ProbablyMonsters let go of around 50 individuals at the end of October 2024.

The wave of job eliminations from the previous year continues into 2025. In January alone, over 700 developers have lost their jobs, with layoffs and closures occurring at Freejam, Splash Damage, Piranha Games, Jar of Sparks, as well as 185 positions eliminated by Ubisoft.
