Here lies everything encompassed

Level-5 made a significant comeback to the West earlier this year with the launch of Megaton Musashi W: Wired. Eight months later, the mech combat game is set to receive a substantial new update, with the ‘Megarobo Batroseum’ upgrade planned for release on November 26.

As highlighted in the new trailer (above), the standout feature of this update is a new online PvP mode—aptly named ‘Megarobo Batroseum’—where players can select a mech from a limited array of presets and engage in battle. You can invite friends or join a room with other competitors based on your matchmaking preferences. Fantastic.

Equally exciting are the new Battle Royale and Team Fight modes for direct duels or chaotic free-for-all matches, alongside new stat-boosting in-game items and the introduction of the ‘Sengi’ system—a unique ability for each unit that can be enhanced during combat.

And that’s still not everything. The ‘Megarobo Batroseum’ update also includes a fresh selection of stages and pilots. The latter can be used in specific story missions as well as online play, in addition to the main PvP mode.

All these new features are showcased in the above update trailer, but you can also view the full list of additions on the Megaton Musashi website if you prefer to read about them.

We had an amazing experience with Megaton Musashi W: Wired when it launched on Switch earlier this year. In our review, we referred to the game as “a strong revival for Level-5, delivering captivating mech-battling action that feels like one of the most underestimated releases of the year.”

Have you gotten this one yet? Is there anything in particular you’re eager to see in the update? Let us know in the comments.
