Poll: Did You Get A Switch 2 Purchase Invite From Nintendo Yet? (Europe)

Pre-orders are one aspect, but there’s something about lotteries and ‘invitations’ to order highly sought-after electronics that irks me quite a bit. “Here, it’s our pleasure to allow you to pay us hundreds of your hard-earned cash, you fortunate individual! Give us your card number.”

Nevertheless, titles in the game are critical when you’re a Switch 2 admirer, and we Europeans should consider ourselves fortunate that we’re not in the precarious situation that our friends across the Atlantic face, guaranteed (as strong as it may seem possible for you too) that a shiny new console will arrive at your doorstep by June 5th.

For those of us eagerly awaiting the invite from Nintendo itself, however, it has been a little nerve-wracking. Right to our title, we are all devoted Nintendo enthusiasts around here and easily meet the gameplay and NSO criteria for receiving an invitation. Yet only one of us (looking at you, PJ) received an invite email before today!

The rest of Team NL were searching elsewhere for Switch 2 pre-orders — of which there are quite a few options, to be fair — but with old Ian Amazon promising delivery sometime between June 9th and 11th(!), how we wished we had received the thumbs-up from Joe Nintendo. Invitations will be sent out until April 11th, apparently, but it still felt a bit like a snub not to be included in the first wave. Is 62 hours of Xenoblade not sufficient, Joe!? I’m sorry I haven’t completed it yet!!

And then! What lands in this writer’s inbox but a cheeky invite at 16:06 local time! A fairly simple code entry and checkout process later, and voilà. I’m quickly anticipating a nervous call from the lovely bank representative who often invites me down to the branch for coffee and a chat while aiming to sell me something.
