Pokémon Trading Card Game Makes Waves with the Return of Trainer Cards in Scarlet & Violet Expansion

The Pokémon Company has revealed its forthcoming Scarlet and Violet Trading Card Game expansion, ‘Go Together’, marking the return of ‘Trainer’s Pokémon’ cards.

This expansion will launch on twenty eighth March 2025, featuring over 180 cards that include more than 40 Trainer’s Pokémon. Notable inclusions are N’s Zoroark ex, Iono’s Bellibolt ex, Lillie’s Clefairy ex, and Hop’s Zacian ex, along with a myriad of unique illustrations to discover.

Trainer’s Pokémon cards first emerged in the TCG 25 years ago with the ‘Gym Heroes‘ set. These cards display the Trainer’s name at the top, accompanied by an additional Trainer image on the right-hand side — glimpses of the upcoming designs can be found in the trailer above.

The upcoming expansion will be available in various forms, including Booster Packs and larger Elite Trainer Boxes — both of which are already sold out on The Pokémon Center website, of course.

All attention is on next month and the awaited ‘Presents’ event on Pokémon Day. A datamine from yesterday all but confirmed that one is on the way (surprise, surprise), where we might get another look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A and possibly the forthcoming TCG Pocket expansion.
