Postponed merely weeks ahead of PS5 debut

Yacht Club Games has opted to postpone its Zelda-inspired PS5 title Mina the Hollower, just weeks prior to the anticipated Halloween release.
In a statement on the developer’s official site, they clarify that although the team has been “laboring diligently day and night to finalize development for launch”, they will not meet the previously set 31st October release timeline. It isn’t a “significant delay”, as stated by the studio; rather, it serves as an additional “period to apply some finishing touches and balance to ensure the game truly dazzles”.
Here’s what Yacht Club Games plans to focus on with the additional development time:
- Completing design, artwork, and audio
- Overall game adjustment
- Executing localization
- Indulging in cheese
- Testing, testing, testing… across all platforms!
Immerse yourself in a terrifying realm of action-adventure in Mina the Hollower. Assume the role of Mina, a famed Hollower thrust into a perilous quest to save a cursed island. Dig through dangers and creatures, vanquish adversaries into oblivion, and equip yourself with a variety of sidearms and artifacts. Discover a sprawling world packed with pixel-perfect visuals, exceptional gameplay, formidable bosses, and captivating music.
Given that the team mentions this is merely a minor delay, it appears probable that Mina the Hollower will still launch for PS5 before the year concludes. If not, it might happen in the early months of 2026.
“We prefer not to proclaim another release date until it’s submitted to platforms, so please hang tight as we approach the finish line,” they noted. “The game is incredibly close to completion— we’re playing it from beginning to end every day.”
