Major roadmap unveiled

Avowed PS5

Avowed, the Obsidian RPG that launched on Xbox and PC last February, is set to receive significant updates throughout the remainder of 2025 — ensuring it will be in excellent condition when it eventually arrives on PS5.

As we are aware, Microsoft has been quite transparent about bringing its Xbox-based titles to Sony’s current-generation console lately, and it has long been anticipated that Avowed will transition at some stage. The only uncertainty is when.

In any case, the developer has shared a post-launch support roadmap outlining three main updates. The substantial spring patch is live now, introducing a variety of enhancements to the fantasy adventure — but the summer and autumn updates appear to be particularly enticing.

Obsidian is pledging new abilities, gear, a New Game+ mode, a photo mode, an entirely new weapon type, expanded character customization options, and numerous quality of life improvements, among other features.

Avowed Update Roadmap

It’s important to mention that we haven’t heard any substantial news about Avowed’s arrival on PS5 since speculation arose before its Xbox and PC launch. At that time, director Carrie Patel seemed to almost let the secret slip during an interview.

Nevertheless, circumstances have changed quite swiftly since then. Forza Horizon 5 and Age of Empires 2 have made their way to PS5, and even Gears of War: Reloaded has been officially confirmed for Sony’s platform.

With Obsidian also preparing The Outer Worlds 2 for PS5 later this year, Avowed truly feels like a foregone conclusion. In fact, it’s entirely likely that it will launch alongside one of these significant updates.
