The positive update: the first Warhammer 40k: Space Marine title is receiving a remaster!
The negative update: it’s bypassing PS5 for some reason — at least upon release.
Exclusively unveiled for Xbox Series X|S and PC, the upgraded re-launch will be accessible on Xbox Game Pass from day one — possibly suggesting some form of temporary agreement with the Green Team. It’s set to release on June 10th.
Clearly, we encountered Space Marine 2 last year — a largely impressive action shooter that built excellently upon its predecessor, which debuted way back in 2011 for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Considering the significant popularity of Space Marine 2, reviving the initial game seems entirely logical, but it presents a potentially exasperating situation for PlayStation enthusiasts.
It’s worth noting, however, that this remaster is being brought to you by SEGA; the Japanese firm was among the original publishers — along with THQ — of Space Marine all those years ago. The sequel is handled by Focus Entertainment.
