Update []: There wasn’t much fresh information regarding the upcoming Virtua Fighter in today’s VF Direct. However, producer Riichiro Yamada confirmed that this installment will have a significantly stronger story emphasis compared to earlier versions, utilizing the expertise of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, known primarily for the Yakuza series.
The stream showcased some new designs of Wolf Hawkfield, featuring a couple of varied outfits, and offered a glimpse behind the curtain at the development process. But since it’s still in the early stages, that’s all for now.
Original Story:

The fierce Virtua Fighter‘s Wolf Hawkfield has undergone an impressive transformation for Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s forthcoming reboot.
Though the character retains his signature features, with a pronounced nose and red tribal markings, his neck beard and untamed red locks give him a markedly more feral appearance compared to prior games in the series. We are fans of the fresh aesthetic!
Additionally, a notable mention goes to this reveal video where the character makes an entrance reminiscent of a boxer or wrestler. We believe this is the developer’s method to unveil the rest of the game’s roster, and we eagerly await to observe how the remaining characters have been reimagined.
Keep in mind, this isn’t the only announcement for Virtua Fighter scheduled for today, as a livestream will commence at 7AM PT / 3PM BST. Depending on the announcements made, we will be sure to update this article.
