Ciri-ous business

The reveal trailer for The Witcher 4, which debuted during The Game Awards last year, has gone on to win a pretty big award.
The ADC Annual Awards celebrate craft and creativity across a wide spectrum of artistic endeavours. They cover fields like architecture, illustration, and photography, while also highlighting works in advertising, graphic design, gaming, and more.
The Witcher 4’s trailer, which unveils Ciri as the RPG’s main character, won in the Gaming – Marketing – Trailer category. Basically, it was deemed the best video game trailer of the last year.
Platige Image, the CG and 3D animation studio behind said trailer, has celebrated the win on social media. It writes: “We did it! We’re bringing home the #GoldCube from the ADC Annual Awards 2025!”
“Produced in collaboration with CD Projekt Red and powered by Unreal Engine 5, this cinematic is the result of months of hard work, creativity, and teamwork. Massive thanks to everyone who made this happen – we couldn’t be prouder!”
The company’s behind-the-scenes video is well worth a watch if you want some insight into how the winning trailer was made:

Robert (or Rob if you’re lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he’s played ’em all. A little too much, some might say.
