A minor obstacle

A multitude of enthusiasts have been urging Sony’s subsidiary ANIPLEX to transfer The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy to the PS5; however, the delay seems linked to developer Too Kyo’s financial stability.

In a post on BlueSky, Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka – co-founder of Too Kyo alongside Zero Escape designer Kotaro Uchikoshi – expressed his desire to start on new versions of the game “immediately”, but noted that “we’re still close to being in financial trouble”.

Recently, during a discussion with our friends at Nintendo Life, Kodaka remarked that “if the game fails to perform well, we could be finished”. Fortunately, it has received excellent critiques and appears to be selling reasonably well on both the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Sadly for Too Kyo, it released at the same time as the overwhelming success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered which took much of the spotlight.

Let’s hope this talented developer can gather sufficient resources to eliminate its debts and commence work on that PS5 port.
