Return to Arcadia Bay

Life Is Strange becomes the newest interactive title destined for a real-life screen version, and Charlie Covell—mastermind behind The End of the F***ing World—feels like the perfect choice to pen it.
The UK dark-comedy chronicles the twisted bond between two adolescent runaways: one fleeing home, the other plotting to kill her.
That knack for mixing youth and chaos makes the writer a natural match for Life Is Strange, a saga that repeatedly tosses teens into the unreal.
Amazon Prime will host the adaptation, with Story Kitchen’s Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson shepherding the project as executive producers.
Story Kitchen told Variety in an exclusive statement:
“From day one we felt Life Is Strange was bigger than pixels—it’s a generational landmark. A full decade later, we’re thrilled to finally transport this cherished tale to Amazon MGM with Square Enix, visionary show-runner Charlie Covell, and the LuckyChap crew. This hand-picked dream squad can’t wait to let audiences experience Life Is Strange through a fresh lens.”
We’re expecting the serial to zero-in on Max and Chloe’s connection from the inaugural entry, still the franchise’s crowning moment.
Fresh instalment Life Is Strange: Double Exposure drew a split response from devotees—partly over how it revisited beats from the 2015 classic.
Our verdict handed the property a 6/10, lamenting that the IP had “misplaced its magic”—a harsh critique for a brand once powered purely by persona.
