Claims DRM does not affect performance

Update []:
Stellar Blade developer Shift Up states it is working diligently to fix a problem that is hindering the game’s availability in more than 129 nations on Steam.
Numerous PC launches from Sony have been barred from sale in locations lacking official PSN access, even after the company altered its account policies. The Korean studio has emphasized that PSN is not necessary for gameplay.
The company has also published frame rate statistics to verify that the game’s integration of Denuvo DRM does not hinder performance.
Original Story: Stellar Blade will not necessitate a PSN account upon its PC launch next month, according to Sony’s updated guidelines. Players can receive an additional outfit for the protagonist Eve if they link their username, although this is entirely voluntary and not mandatory in any way.
Nonetheless, like nearly all PlayStation PC launches, the game will not be available in 129 countries on Steam, a situation that fans are still trying to understand. It’s likely there’s some legal complications involved, but Sony alone knows the true rationale behind this choice.
Nations restricted from purchasing the game include Egypt, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Alarmingly, it appears that the Korean developer Shift Up was unaware of these limitations. They responded to several impacted users on X (formerly known as Twitter), using shocked and crying emojis, and inquired about the users’ locations.
In other developments, fans express dissatisfaction regarding the game’s use of anti-piracy software Denuvo, often criticized for reducing PC game performance.
“There is no decline in performance due to DRM,” a Shift Up representative stated on social media. “Even on lower-tier systems, you can experience the game in stunning quality!”
Shift Up has high hopes for the PC launch of this title, predicting it will eventually outpace the PS5 version in sales. Early signs are promising; it has surged in Steam’s pre-order rankings, but it appears there are challenges to navigate before the 11th of June.
