It’s May 4th, a day when Star Wars enthusiasts globally commemorate the legendary sci-fi saga from LucasFilm. However, those gaming on PS5 and PS4 may find the celebrations somewhat subdued.
This is due to Aspyr having launched a new collection of classic Star Wars titles, although the selection is significantly reduced on Sony’s consoles.
If you choose to purchase on PS5 or PS4, you will receive six titles:
- Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
- Star Wars: Episode I Racer
- Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles
- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
- Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
- Star Wars: Republic Commando
In contrast, if you’re gaming on the Nintendo Switch, you will receive the titles mentioned above plus:
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
To be fair, the pricing reflects the variations in content.
The cost for the Grand Collection on PlayStation is $89.99/£73.99, while on Nintendo Switch, it is $139.99/£125.99. Both platforms currently offer a 50% discount on their respective bundles.
This situation raises an intriguing question: why aren’t the Knights of the Old Republic games and The Force Unleashed available on PS5 and PS4 already?
