Sony’s very own Aniplex branch, which operates under the Sony Music Entertainment banner, is collaborating with Capcom and Korean developer JOYCITY to introduce Resident Evil on mobile.
A new title, subtitled Survival Unit, will be officially unveiled during a virtual live stream at 3PM PDT/11PM BST on July 10th.
You can discover what time that is in your region below:
- North America: 3pm PDT / 4pm MDT / 5pm CDT / 6pm EDT
- UK/Ireland: 11pm BST
- Europe: 12am (Fri) CEST / 1am (Fri) EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 7am (Fri) JST / 6am (Fri) AWST / 8am (Fri) AEST
The game is characterized as a “real-time strategy venture optimized for mobile devices.”
Here’s the official description:
“Resident Evil: Survival Unit presents a unique perspective on the cherished franchise, reinterpreting the survival horror realm as a real-time strategy endeavor optimized for mobile devices, iOS and Android. The game aims to attract both devoted fans and newcomers.”
It will be fascinating to see how this functions, as RTS is uncharted territory for the Resident Evil series, as far as we know.
