Over 70,000 variations

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is set to offer considerably more intricacy than typical kart racers.
SEGA has unveiled a trailer for the forthcoming racer today that showcases the extensive range of customization available in the upcoming title.
Central to this experience is the gadget system, enabling you to imprint your style onto your personal play approach. For instance, you’ll have the ability to combine and choose gadgets that grant you a boost when executing tricks mid-air – or significantly reward you upon striking another competitor.
The final game will feature over 70 gadgets, and you’ll also be able to merge these with various car components. These modifications will influence your maximum speed, acceleration, and additional stats. Ultimately, you’ll possess total authority over how you choose to engage.
Now, this certainly raises issues regarding balance, but we like to think that the developers have given it careful consideration. They assert that there are over 70,000 conceivable combinations in the final version.
Here’s the official statement from the publisher:
“With more than 40 vehicles, 70+ gadgets, and over 100 vehicle parts and decals, players have thousands of combinations at their disposal to personalize the ultimate racing machine. Participants can mix and match racers, vehicles, vehicle parts, and gadgets to curate a customized racing experience that aligns with their gameplay style.”
If aesthetics are more your focus, then decals will also let you bestow a unique appearance to your vehicles. Judging by the trailer, it appears there will be various horns and boost trails you can unlock as well.
Pre-orders will include the werehog pack, while those registering for a SEGA account can also acquire the Blue Star Extreme Gear, inspired by the PS2 title Sonic Riders.
The game is slated for release on 25th September for both PS5 and PS4.
