Monthly Active Users figures on the upswing once more

The chart illustrating Sony’s userbase expansion on PS5 and PS4 is consistently increasing, as yet another fiscal quarter concludes with the Monthly Active Users on PSN surpassing the same timeframe from the previous year.
During the Q2 quarter for the fiscal year 2025 (1st April — 30th June), the PlayStation Network noted 119 million Monthly Active Users. In comparison to the corresponding period in fiscal year 2024, this reflects an increase of three million users. Although it is a decline from the beginning of this fiscal year, when Sony reported 123 million monthly users in the first quarter, the statistics from recent years indicate a general upward trajectory.

For instance, during the Q2 phase of fiscal year 2022, Sony’s Monthly Active Users tally was 102 million. For the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, it rose to 107 million. Sony will now be anticipating Q3 and Q4 for the current fiscal year to determine if similar player growth is observed. In Q3 of fiscal year 2024, it maintained 129 million Monthly Active Users, representing a significant improvement over the prior quarter.
As part of its most recent financial report, Sony also announced that PS5 sales reached 84.2 million units, and its latest first-party release, Ghost of Yotei, has sold 3.3 million copies since its launch.
