Determine Push Square’s GOTM

June represented perhaps the most subdued month of the year thus far regarding new launches. Aside from the standout event that was Death Stranding 2, high-profile games were virtually absent.
However, to claim that June was devoid of quality would be unfair. Rematch, for instance — the captivating arcade-style soccer simulation from Sifu developer SloClap — turned out to be a revelation. A fine example of an outstanding idea brought to life with charm and assurance, Rematch has become a highly favored multiplayer experience, marking a standout success of 2025.
Additionally, Raidou Remastered revived a frequently overlooked PS2 RPG from Atlus. Enhanced, broadened, and redone, this offers a well-deserved second opportunity for what many deem a cult classic.
The Alters and Date Everything deserve a mention, too. Both titles feature captivating narrative elements and gameplay innovations; The Alters being a wildly imaginative clone-centered survival management sim, while Date Everything provides a genuinely distinctive perspective on romantic visual novels.
Returning to Death Stranding 2, we are likely witnessing a contender for Game of the Year. There’s no doubt that Kojima Productions’ sequel is set to be the frontrunner in this Game of the Month vote.
Before we dive into the poll, let’s quickly recap our Game of the Month victors for 2025 thus far…

Robert (or Rob if you prefer brevity) is an assistant editor at Push Square, having been an enthusiast for PlayStation since the ’90s, when Tekken 2 opened his eyes to the extraordinary realm of video gaming. He remains serious about his fighting games, yet RPGs are where his heart truly lies. Titles like The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he has immersed himself in them all. Perhaps excessively, some might argue.
