PlayStation Stars Shutdown Poll

So, PlayStation Stars is meeting its end — but how invested are you in its conclusion?

The rewards initiative was first unveiled in 2022 and subsequently launched in various regions over several months. Essentially, Stars was (and technically still is) a customer loyalty program, providing perks to users who maintain involvement with the PlayStation ecosystem.

Digital ‘collectibles’ have consistently been available, yet honestly, we’ve always questioned how many individuals truly utilize them. Indeed, for many users, we’re confident that the primary appeal of Stars is the chance to reduce the expense of your next PS Store transaction.

Unlocking a bit of extra cash for your digital wallet — a reward for accomplishing challenges and spending on the storefront — served as a genuine motivation to connect with PlayStation Stars periodically. However, Sony faced backlash for eliminating these financial incentives last year — although they were quickly reinstated.

The signs may have hinted at the future of Stars. Earlier this week, Sony confirmed that the service would be completely terminated in November 2026.

That is undoubtedly still some time away, but as of now, no new participants can enroll in the program — and no new campaigns or additional rewards will be incorporated into Stars after June 23, 2025.

But does the end of PlayStation Stars hold any significance for you? Are you disappointed to see it go, or do you struggle to genuinely care? Participate in our polls, and then share your candid thoughts in the comments section below.
