The likelihood of any additional PlayStation: The Concert performances occurring next year in the USA appears to be diminishing rapidly.
It’s been observed that an extra 11 stops on the USA segment of the global tour have now been scrapped, with Ticketmaster no longer listing them for sale. Only a handful of cities remain in the Ticketmaster results that permit you to find tickets, while the others are marked as cancelled.
Furthermore, VGC has noted that the official site for the PlayStation event has now been taken offline, with the link leading to a 404 error page. This follows concert cancellations throughout Europe and the USA for the remaining months of this year. Sony has yet to provide any commentary on the matter.
While some performances have been cancelled, others aren’t even listed on the venues’ official sites, raising doubts about their occurrence.
Attending PlayStation: The Concert earlier this year in Scotland, we found it to be an enjoyable experience as a PlayStation enthusiast. “If you have a sentimental connection to some of these franchises like I do, then the joy of hearing them in a large stadium surrounded by fellow PlayStation fans with a (mostly) live band will guarantee a pleasant time. And that’s exactly what I experienced: a great time. I just wished it explored a broader scope of PlayStation’s history and had made more of an effort to remain genuinely ‘live’.”
