Long, simple left – perhaps?

Regardless of whether you had a PS1 or a SEGA Saturn in your childhood, there’s a strong likelihood you were indulging in rally gaming delight.
For the SEGA Saturn, the remarkable SEGA Rally Championship secured its top spot, boasting its fantastic arcade handling and astonishing polygonal visuals.
However, the PlayStation was not far behind, and Codemasters’ legendary Colin McRae Rally remains an enjoyable title to experience today. In reality, its influence continues under the DIRT brand, which is a franchise we personally still find pleasure in.
But if you’re yearning for something a tad more nostalgic, then Old School Rally could be what you desire.
With its imitation Subaru Impreza – in purple and lime green colors, naturally – this distinctly retro racer seems to have emerged directly from your PS1.
Nonetheless, it’s making its way to the PS5 and PS4 later this year, and there’s even a demo arriving at the PS Store if you’re eager to try it out, even though it doesn’t seem to be available just yet despite what the press release indicates.
The game has been accessible on Steam for a while, where it has mostly garnered highly favorable reviews.
Here’s how the developer depicts it:
“Old School Rally showcases high-speed, arcade-style gameplay, emphasizing driving expertise and rapid maneuvers. Meticulously crafted retro-style graphics, invoking memories of the late ’90s rally games overflowing with nostalgia and charm, make it a must-experience for everyone.”
We must admit, the team has truly captured the essence of the 32-bit era, featuring grainy textures and rudimentary car models. The complete game offers racecourses from across the globe, each with its unique atmosphere and character.
There’s no official release date available just yet, but it’s expected to arrive later this year.
