Affection is a Combat Zone
Marvel Rivals keeps advancing as NetEase remains committed to its post-launch assistance.
The complimentary game is set to launch Season 5: Affection is a Combat Zone, which will introduce at least two new playable figures.
The first of these will be Gambit, who will become available when Season 5 commences on 14th November. He’ll be accompanied by fellow mutant Rogue later in the season.
Here’s an overview of Gambit, according to the press release:
“Gambit is a skilled Tactician, merging kinetic energy manipulation with his signature playing cards, swift movement, and proficient combat expertise to create a distinct gameplay style. In combat, he can merge his Chronovium-enhanced cards to initiate kinetic shifting that heals allies, removes negative effects, or inflicts damage: pushing enemies back and applying anti-heal. When allies require assistance or adversaries advance, Gambit can direct energy into his staff, utilizing agile movement and martial arts to eliminate threats. Upon activating his Ultimate Ability, Gambit hurls kinetic-charged aces at all nearby allies, amplifying their jumping capabilities and adding explosive force to their assaults!”
Besides the new characters, Season 5 rolls out a host of additional features.
It introduces a non-combat arena in New York’s Times Square, accommodating up to 100 participants.
Next, there’s the 18v18 Conquest (Annihilation) mode, which occurs on a brand-new map, Grand Garden.
Crucially, Season 5 also incorporates cross-platform progression, enabling players to seamlessly continue where they left off across various systems.
The press release further indicates that players can anticipate more PvE content in 2026 building on the Marvel Zombies mode.
