Millions view initial trailer

Even though it surfaced roughly 12 hours sooner than anticipated, Horizon Steel Frontiers’ promotional trailer has already surpassed 2.5 million views on YouTube, three days post its launch. Additionally, its gameplay trailer has accrued another 217k views.
We presume some of these views were generated through pre-roll adverts, but it remains an impressive initiation from the NCSOFT venture, which will debut primarily on mobile, as well as on PC via the South Korean firm’s unique Purple emulator.
Although the feedback is mostly unfavorable – chiefly denouncing “predatory” monetization strategies that haven’t even been revealed, along with the absence of a PS5 version – the estimated Like/Dislike ratio displayed via Google Chrome’s extension leans more favorable overall.
In the end, we believe Sony erred by not disclosing Guerrilla’s own presumably PS5-bound multiplayer project alongside this.
Clearly, there’s a sentiment among PlayStation’s most fervent fans that they’re being overlooked here, but we must assume there’s a strategy behind the chaos, and that NCSOFT’s own title will harmonize well alongside whatever the Amsterdam studio is also developing.
Regardless, the South Korean developer has expressed interest in bringing Horizon Steel Frontiers to the console, and with mobile titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail already finding great success on the platform, we wouldn’t be shocked if it received approval.
However, the main focus for this endeavor is clearly capturing a previously uncharted audience, and looking at the trailer interaction, it’s already off to a solid beginning. This will be a project to monitor closely without a doubt.
