It has to occur eventually
Since the announcement of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls in June, we haven’t seen any further characters disclosed for the title.
We are aware of eight characters up to this point, all of whom were featured in the fantastic reveal trailer.
Despite there being multiple favorable chances for Sony and Arc System Works to unveil new characters, they have all elapsed without any updates, including the recent State of Play.
Nonetheless, the Tokyo Game Show is currently underway, and Marvel Tokon is set for its own stage presentation very shortly:
The official accounts for the game have confirmed a sort of event “showcasing the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls development team, followed by an exhibition match on Arc System Works’s stage”.
This will be streamed live on YouTube on the 27th of September (or 28th depending on your location) at these times:
- North America: 8:40pm (Sat) PDT / 9:40pm (Sat) MDT / 10:40pm (Sat) CDT / 11:40pm (Sat) EDT
- UK/Ire: 4:40am BST
- Europe: 5:40am CEST / 6:40am EEST
- Asia/Oceania: 12:40pm JST / 11:40am AWST / 1:40pm AEST
This appears to be an ideal moment to introduce a character or two, but we’ve made similar assertions about various other events in the past, so we’re cautious about raising our expectations too high. That said, given this is a presentation specifically for Marvel Tokon, the chances seem a bit more promising here.
Let’s hope we receive some news. Which characters would you love to see unveiled for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
