Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is arriving in mere days, and we’re convinced it deserves your attention, whether you’re a series veteran or a first-time recruit.
Warm critical praise suggests it’s poised to thrive, and if sales prove strong, publisher Konami is prepared to mull over additional revisits to its catalog.
In a chat with Game Informer, producers Noriaki Okamura and Yuji Korekado revealed that, should Delta succeed, they would “examine a broad range of potential games moving forward.”

We’re constantly mulling over what’s next for Metal Gear, yet when it comes to additional remakes, our attention is squarely on the present release. We aimed to craft an experience that resonates with die-hard supporters and brings in newcomers alike.
At this juncture, we’re concentrating on perfecting Delta for today’s platforms; once it’s out and reception shows players want more, only then will we begin to evaluate a whole host of other titles. For now, this is all there is.
Translation: Konami’s door is open for deeper dives into its back catalog—provided this remake hits the mark commercially.
MGS Delta: Snake Eater is a meticulously loyal reconstruction of the PS2 masterpiece. It boasts cutting-edge visuals via Unreal Engine 5, implements clever gameplay tweaks (while still allowing purists to rely on legacy controls), and will later add a fresh multiplayer mode after launch.
Yet all spoken dialogue and cinematic sequences remain untouched from the 2004 release.
It’s effortless to picture Konami applying the same overhaul to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty—or even the very first MGS—though that last prospect would necessitate larger modifications.
