‘It’s Not About Checking Off a Map, It’s About Engaging with What Excites You’: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Gameplay Stuns

Sucker Punch has finally revealed details about Ghost of Yotei, the upcoming major PS5 exclusive set to debut on 2nd October this year.
This showcase provided the comprehensive overview we had all hoped for, exploring the essential elements of the anticipated sequel: exploration, combat, and customization.
For us, the key point is that the sequel has been crafted with a player-centric approach.
“The realm of Yotei is extensive,” creative director Nate Fox remarked during the demonstration. “However, it’s not simply about checking off every box. It’s about connecting with what ignites your enthusiasm.”
A novel clue system will enable you to access the content you desire much faster.
Upon defeating foes, you’ll have the capability to interrogate them for clues, represented as playing cards. As you collect sufficient numbers of these, they will evolve into leads that will assist you in navigating the map.

Sucker Punch expresses that it doesn’t wish for you to hurry, but instead encourages you to discover at your own speed. It emphasized that occasionally the most rewarding action is to simply roam through the world and investigate the aspects that capture your focus.
This level of freedom will extend into the combat system, where you will possess numerous diverse weapons to master. Some will be beneficial against various enemy types, but ultimately, it’s up to you how you wish to tackle each encounter and play style.
Additionally, the choice of equipment assigned to protagonist Atsu will further refine your gameplay. Naturally, you’ll also have the liberty to unlock various styles of armor and cosmetics to enhance your aesthetic.
As a solitary adventurer, Atsu will camp beneath the stars, yet she will establish connections with other characters.
Nonetheless, each time you set up a camp, those companions – referred to as the Wolf Pack – will join you, which means you won’t need to keep traveling back and forth to different vendors. This, according to Sucker Punch, will enable you to advance on your journey wherever you might be.

If that’s not enough, you will have the option to experience the single-player campaign in Japanese, complete with full lip-syncing and subtitles, if desired. Furthermore, there will be various modes inspired by several iconic Japanese directors.
