Deathwatch debuts on 14th October

There’s a remake of the original Splinter Cell game in development at Ubisoft, but almost four years after its reveal, who knows if you’ll ever actually get to play it. So, instead, how about a Splinter Cell anime?

Still determined to have Sam Fisher appear in anything but a new game, Ubisoft (alongside Sun Creature and Fost) has produced an animated TV series called Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, and it debuts on Netflix from 14th October. Catch the new official trailer above.

Here’s the story setup:

An adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell franchise, Deathwatch focuses on Sam Fisher as he is drawn back into the field when a wounded young operative seeks his help.

Derek Kolstad, who most notably created the John Wick film saga, has served as the head writer and executive producer on the project. In the directing roles are Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daâge.

Splinter Cell is only the latest video game IP to be adapted for Netflix, with Tomb Raider, Cyberpunk 2077, Devil May Cry, and Assassin’s Creed either having already received the treatment or will do so in the future. Will you watch Splinter Cell: Deathwatch? Let us know in the comments below.
