The game – clearly influenced by initial social platforms like MySpace and AOL Instant Messenger – offers an “emotionally impactful storytelling journey that delves into the connections between identity, communication, and technology.”
It takes place in an alternate 2003 where a fictional gaming console known as the Kinmoku Shark dominated the landscape.
You will assume the role of a character named Emmett, as you traverse lively online communities, interacting with other users and “discovering the corporate enigmas nestled behind Kinmoku Shark’s cherished console.”
This is a visual narrative akin to Needy Streamer Overload, utilizing nostalgic 1-bit graphics to build its distinctive digital realm. The choices you make throughout the game will directly affect the conclusion of the tale.
This title has garnered enthusiastic reviews on PC already, averaging a score of 90 at the time of writing on Metacritic. It is set to launch on the PS5 and PS4 on the 14th of November, and could be worth your attention if the thematic content intrigues you.
