Gotta gacha ‘em all

The sound you might detect signals Nintendo’s legal team preparing for action.
Competing with the Chinese giant HoYoverse will require significantly more strength than what Palworld developer Pocket Pair has to offer.
This firm has unveiled a third installment in the Honkai series, which, based on the preview, appears to be a Pokémon-themed adaptation of previous titles Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail.
Although the trailer doesn’t divulge much, we see familiar figures Kiana (Honkai Impact 3rd) and Blade (Honkai: Star Rail) engaging in battles with summoned creatures.
HoYoverse has recently secured a trademark for the title Honkai: Nexus Anima globally and seems to have acquired a website domain and social media profiles for the same brand.
We will have to be patient for additional details, but this certainly appears to be HoYoverse’s interpretation of Pokémon. It will be intriguing to observe if this turns out to be a further cornerstone for the active developer alongside Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, or merely a side project.
If this is being hinted at now, we anticipate more updates later this year.
Additionally, given HoYoverse’s success on PlayStation—and the absence of a genuine Pokémon competitor on Sony’s systems—it’s likely to be released on PS5, along with PC, mobile, and other platforms.
