After being announced an eternity ago, Honkai: Star Rail has finally revealed its first crossover content with Fate/Stay Night.

The characters available from the legendary Type-Moon visual novel, which has had versions on both the PS2 and PS Vita, include:

  • Archer (The Hunt, Quantum)
  • Saber (Destruction, Wind)

Both characters will be available to pull for “a long period” starting from 11th July.

However, there’s an added bonus for fans of HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG: anyone who logs into their account from the aforementioned date through to the conclusion of v3.6 will unlock Archer for free.

There’ll also be a special Fate/Stay Night event to incorporate the characters into the game.

“In the planet of dreams, compete to gain the Holy Grail, which can realise all dreams, and summon historical celebrities as Servants – the first Penaconian Holy Grail War is about to begin! And the Trailblazer will be… Player?”

Further information states you’ll be able to “summon Heroic Spirits, use Command Seals, wield Noble Phantasms, and try different classes to win strategic battles”.

We’d recommend playing through Fate/Stay Night in preparation, but the most recent worldwide console release, which was published by Sony subsidiary ANIPLEX, is currently only available on the Nintendo Switch.
