Dark Auction is Hitler’s Estate no longer

Dark Auction PS5 1

Mentions of Adolf Hitler seem to have been eliminated from the forthcoming visual novel game Dark Auction, with enthusiasts of the title pointing out alterations made to its Steam page. While the game was initially titled Dark Auction: Hitler’s Estate, the subtitle has now vanished.

This continues into the description, where Hitler is now labeled as “Dictator X”. A review of the Steam page’s history via the wayback machine indicates that Hitler was explicitly mentioned in promotional content: “Noah, whose father searches for Hitler artifacts, becomes involved in an auction at an ancient castle.”

Currently, that sentence reads: “Noah resides with his peculiar father, who looks for artifacts linked to ‘Dictator X’.” The exact timing of this alteration remains uncertain, yet no public justification has been given.

Dark Auction is crafted by Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Another Code author Rika Suzuki, and it continues to set an intriguing foundation on PS5, despite the modifications made. There’s no definite release date announced yet.

“One day, an invitation arrives for an auction offering items associated with ‘Dictator X.’ Disregarding Noah’s objections, Leonardo embarks on a journey to the ancient castle where the auction is set to take place, vowing to inform Noah of everything upon his return. But Leonardo never arrives home. With no means to reach him, Noah decides to head to the castle himself — only to be confronted by something astonishing.”
