The project is still at the “blueprint phase”

Hideo Kojima might be the most overbooked creative mind in gaming right now; juggling regular interviews and daily social-media posts, he’s also steering three different titles inside his own studio, Kojima Productions.
In one corner sits Death Stranding 2: On the Beach—he’s fine-tuning the recently-launched release. In another corner stands OD, a horror venture that’s climbing the priority ladder now that the sequel is out. Finally, there’s Physint—that enigmatic PlayStation-only project revealed at the beginning of last year.

Speaking with IndieWire, Kojima confesses that he’s the sole person handling this third project at the moment.
When asked what tasks sit on his desk right now, he responded in full:
Well, I’m checking the data of [Death Stranding 2] players all over the world — what kind of weapons they’re using, the routes they’re taking, all this data. And I also see these small bugs here and there, so I’m deciding where to fix and what to fix. I also am starting to work with the team on “OD” because that’s a new project, and also doing “Physint” all by myself because that’s at the conceptual stage. So I’m doing that. And also I have all these interviews every day, and also promotional — photo-shootings, things like that — so I don’t feel like I’ve finished the title, to be frank.
So Physint is technically underway, yet it’s firmly in the “blueprint phase” and Kojima is the only architect—implying it remains many years off.
Still, the mere fact he referenced it is heartening. We won’t be getting hands-on any time soon, yet the wheels are turning, however slowly.
What we do know so far is that Physint bills itself as a “next-generation action-espionage experience,” hinting this could act as a spiritual successor to the Metal Gear Solid lineage. Beyond that, the goal is to “break down the wall separating film and interactive entertainment.”
