Requires space

Update []: The patch notes are now accessible for Black Myth: Wukong’s massive performance-boosting patch, which comes in at a staggering 93.5GB.
Among the enhancements are the following PS5 specific corrections:
- Reconfigured Performance Mode back to 60Hz, decreasing input delay and achieving a higher resolution than previously. However, the lighting quality level has been modified to boost performance. The original Performance Mode is still preserved and renamed “Performance Mode (Legacy)”. (PS5)
- Enhanced the loading speed of the game. (PS5)
- Refined the clarity of specific textures. (PS5)
The comprehensive list of enhancements and fixes can be found here.
Original Report: Black Myth: Wukong, the lauded action title from Chinese developer Game Science, is set to receive a significant update later today, 13th October, addressing bugs and further optimizing performance.
However, you may need to prepare for the update, as it’s a substantial one.
Here’s what the studio communicated on X (or Twitter):
“Due to variations in file storage methods, the patch on PS5 will necessitate a relatively significant amount of space (approximately 93.5GB). If the update cannot be finalized due to inadequate storage or other issues, you may continue playing the existing version or attempt deleting the game and downloading it again.”
While highly recommended, Black Myth: Wukong has not always been the most fluid performer on the PS5, so we’re optimistic these enhancements will lead to a much improved gaming experience.
The patch will be gradually deployed throughout the day, so if you plan to take advantage of the updates, it might be wise to clean out some space now before it arrives.
