Free Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Update Adds PSP Exclusive Characters to Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper

Huge announcement for veterans of the downright stellar compilation, Capcom Fighting Collection 2: the pack will receive a no-cost update on 7th August, porting the quartet once locked to the PSP into Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper.
If you’re unaware, Street Fighter Alpha 3 saw a 2002 GBA adaptation from Crawfish Interactive that brought Eagle, Maki, and Yun along for the ride.
Those three warriors later made the cut in the PSP’s practically flawless edition, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, this time joined by Ingrid—the heroine previously exclusive to the maligned Capcom Fighting Evolution on PlayStation 2.
Today, every last one of those four brawlers bridges over to Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper inside Capcom Fighting Collection 2, effectively crowning it the ultimate release. Ingrid is also slated to arrive as DLC in Street Fighter 6 next year, so sharpening your skills here first feels smart.
Extra battle formats will drop alongside the newcomers: Normal, Mazi, Saikyo, and Classic. From what we gather, Mazi boosts damage dealt, Saikyo tones it down, and Classic rolls back contemporary systems—including Super moves—giving purists exactly what they crave.
Beyond combatants and modes, expect fresh illustrations, rearranged tracks from Capcom’s legendary audio squad, plus training enhancements for Plasma Sword, letting you dissect every combo chain in peace.
Once again, the entire bundle of goodies is yours at no charge.
We’ve already sung the game’s praises loudly, handing it a 9/10 in our Capcom Fighting Collection 2 PS4 review.
“Although its laser-focus on arcade fidelity sacrifices the solo extras found in several original console editions, the volume of top-tier content on display makes any complaints feel trivial. Bouts such as Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper easily rank among the greatest fighting games of all time,” we concluded.
