Football Manager 26 Will Officially Incorporate the World Cup as Part of Agreement with FIFA 1

Even those who don’t follow football are aware that EA Sports has terminated its accord with FIFA, renaming its franchise EA Sports FC.

While that doesn’t significantly alter its games, it signifies that the World Cup rights are available. SEGA has secured them for Football Manager 26.

To clarify for the uninitiated: Football Manager is a distinct type of franchise compared to EA Sports FC, emphasizing strategies and adjustments rather than controller proficiency. Its presentation has progressed well beyond the “spreadsheet simulator” it was historically recognized as, however.

This is a multi-year contract which will kick off with this year’s World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico being integrated into the game.

“This coincides with the forthcoming addition of a revamped International Management module in a Content Update next year for Football Manager 26, Football Manager 26 Console, and Football Manager 26 Touch in anticipation of FIFA World Cup 26,” reads the press release.

More information will be revealed in due time, but it essentially indicates that all of the international kits from the World Cup squads and television presentation bundles will be included in the game.

This is genuinely a significant milestone, as longtime enthusiasts will remember Football Manager also took a break last year, while it upgraded its engine.

The new installment is set for release on the PS5 from November 4th, so you won’t have to wait long to witness how much the series has progressed during its pause.
