Final Fantasy 7 Remake Switch 2 Xbox PS5

Square Enix calls them “streamlined progression features”, but back in the day, we just called them cheats.

That’s what Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is getting when it launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S in January of next year.

These new features include toggles for:

  • Infinite HP and MP
  • Deal 9,999 damage on all of your attacks
  • Infinite items

Needless to say, enabling these streamlined options will trivialise the game’s combat system. Their implementation has already caused a bit controversy amongst fans, with some arguing that they’re a step too far in removing all challenge from what is a key part of the experience.

But look, we’re not going to tell people how they should enjoy the games that they buy with their own hard-earned cash. If you’re playing Remake Intergrade purely for the story and spectacle, then we imagine that these features might come in handy.

Interestingly, though, there’s been no mention of these options making their way to the PS5 version of the game. It could be that PlayStation users will be left with a technically inferior edition of the highly rated RPG.

We’ve reached out to Square Enix for clarification on the matter, and we’ll update this article if we get a response.

Would you be tempted to use these features yourself? Do you think they’ll be added to the PS5 version eventually? Make yourself invincible in the comments section below.

Robert (or Rob if you’re lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he’s played ’em all. A little too much, some might say.
