Art directors from every franchise unite

The most vocal supporters of both Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might argue on social media, but true fans understand there’s a significant level of admiration between creators Square Enix and Sandfall Interactive.

This makes it perhaps unsurprising to witness crossover art between the two franchises, as the beloved representatives of the RPG genre gathered for a unique event in Paris earlier this week.

During the occasion, the art directors from each franchise interpreted the characters of the other.

Thus, we present Gustave and Maelle illustrated by the renowned Tetsuya Nomura, along with Cloud Strife and Aerith Gainsborough portrayed by Nicholas Maxson-Francombe. One can only imagine the Sandfall Interactive team feeling ecstatic upon seeing Nomura’s rendition.

Currently, there’s no definitive information on whether this partnership will lead to more than just artwork, but a future collaboration on crossover content between the two studios seems plausible.

Ultimately, a thriving RPG industry benefits us all. It’s wonderful to see these two giants unite in such a manner.
