“It’s genuinely a new era”

It appears that Halo: Campaign Evolved will merely be the beginning of Halo Studios’ ambitions to introduce the FPS franchise to PS5 — and PlayStation overall — as the developer has indicated Halo is “on PlayStation moving forward”.
Sporting a PlayStation t-shirt while stating this, community director Brian Jarrad made the remark during the Halo World Championship livestream. In full, he mentioned (via Gematsu):
“It’s a significant event, it’s been a long time in the making. We’re just incredibly thrilled to be able to welcome even more gamers now to the franchise we cherish, to fall in love with Halo just like we all did 24 years ago at this very moment. As a community individual, I recognize that the Halo community is extremely eager to invite their friends as well — it’s simply going to mean more Halo for everyone. And it’s genuinely a new era. Halo is on PlayStation moving ahead, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved.”
Whether those intentions involve reboots and re-releases of existing Halo titles or entirely original ones remains unclear, but whatever Halo Studios has planned, it seems to be making its way to PS5 along with Xbox and PC. It has been nearly four years since Halo Infinite debuted, so the franchise is surely due for a new installment shortly. It sounds like you’ll be able to enjoy that on PS5.
Jarrad even reiterated his enthusiasm on the PlayStation Blog, stating: “Halo: Campaign Evolved will arrive in 2026, launching simultaneously on PlayStation 5. We’ll disclose more details in the upcoming months, but for now, you can add it to your wishlist today. As the Master Chief once remarked: ‘I believe we’re just getting started.'”
Halo’s journey on PlayStation starts with Halo: Campaign Evolved in 2026, which revitalizes the single-player aspect of the original game. It will feature completely new visuals, additional gameplay elements, a remastered soundtrack, and fresh voice acting. The only component excluded is multiplayer, although three new prequel missions will be available for returning players to look forward to.
