Co-op reveal is absolutely crushing it

During its massive showcase, EA has officially verified that Battlefield 6 will arrive on PS5 10 October 2025, and you can watch the action-packed multiplayer teaser embedded up top.

An open beta test for the first-person shooter is scheduled to roll out in the next few weeks, with the primary playable slots set for 9–10 August and 14–17 August. Snag a code and you’ll be allowed in even sooner, from 7 August.

The briefing packed in loads of material, all dissected in the highlight clips offered beneath. You’ll spot rundowns on classes, arenas, rule sets, and more.

The legendary class framework is back and stronger than ever: Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer give soldiers the tools to carve out their niche on the battlefield. These four archetypes have been retooled, geared to catapult your squad to victory through unique gadgets, trademark weaponry, and customised training. Destruction is back too, supercharged to grant unmatched freedom—reshape the warzone to forge fresh flanking routes, demolish cover, and seize total control.

At release, nine multiplayer theaters will be on offer; one of them is a refreshed Operation Firestorm from Battlefield 3. These maps can be tackled in the following playlists:

  • Conquest
  • Breakthrough
  • Rush
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Squad Deathmatch
  • Domination
  • King of the Hill
  • Escalation (fresh rule set)

Byron Beede, senior vice president and Battlefield general manager, stated: “When we started building the next chapter of Battlefield, we knew we had to perfect the core ingredients fans have cherished for more than two decades.”

“We’re back in our all-out-war playground, powered by four elite teams operating as one unified force called Battlefield Studios. Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect have poured their hearts into this entry, and we’re stoked to have opened the curtain today. Can’t wait to see you next weekend during the open beta.”
